The Dutch Drink More Bubbles!

Sales of sparkling wine continues to rise. Last year, the Dutch drank more than eight million bottles of champagne, prosecco or other sparkling wines, 11 percent more than the previous year. This is evident from the Wine Marketing year figures presented Thursday. The increase is mainly due to prosecco wine, champagne was less interesting than in 2009. Rose wine bottles were less sold over the counter. This decrease appears to be strongly associated with worse weather during the rose season, according to the publisher.

France

France wine is still the favorite of the Dutchs , but declined in popularity. In 2010, we achieved nearly 30 percent of our wines from France, 6 percent less than the previous year. Wines from New Zealand and Chile will be more and more popular, with an increase of 15 percent and 11 percent respectively.
